Request for council funding to tidy up the Oberon tip | Oberon Review

At Oberon Council meeting last week Cr Clive McCarthy moved a motion that council allocate funding to tidy up the Oberon tip, including building a new shed with solar power to supply EFTPOS.

The motion also included a request for an update on a proposed new cell at the waste depot and improvements to the office and toilets.

Cr McCarthy said the facilities at the waste depot were are disgrace.

“The toilet facilities are a disgrace,” he said “No showers, staff should be able to clean up before they go home.

“Logs have been built up the back for over five years. We need to tidy up and cover trenches.”

Council’s general manager, Gary Wallace said they are looking at closing the old land fill…
