Fence me in: O’Connell Recreation Ground starting to take shape | Oberon Review

THE development of an O’Connell Recreation Ground is starting to take shape thanks to a pair of grants from the state government.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced last year that the government would fund stage one of the project to the tune of almost $350,000 and work to secure the site is now under way.

A timber post and rail fence is being constructed along the O’Connell Road just down from the Beaconsfield Road intersection.

And the good news for O’Connell keeps on coming with Mr Toole announcing a further $221,000 in funding for the project.

“This brings the support for the O’Connell Recreation Ground to more than $570,000,” he said.

“The latest grant is joint Australian and NSW Government funding as part of the Bushfire Community…
